Description
Shawarma in Pita
Ingredients
- Pita - 4 pieces
- Chicken fillet - 2 pieces
- Tomatoes - 3 pieces
- Herbs - to taste
- Cucumbers - 2 pieces
- Mayonnaise - 6 tablespoons
- Sour Cream - 6 tablespoons
- Fermented Milk - 6 tablespoons
- Garlic - to taste
- Bouillon cube - ½ piece
- Curry - to taste
- Vegetable Oil - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
First, let's make the sauce. Mix mayonnaise, sour cream, and fermented baked milk in a ratio of 1:1:1. Press the garlic through a garlic press. Crumble the bouillon cube. Chop the herbs. Mix everything thoroughly. Cover with a lid and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. The sauce should infuse; the longer it sits, the tastier it will be.
Step 2
The next step is to prepare the chicken fillet. Rinse and dry it. Cut into small pieces. Heat vegetable oil, add the chicken, and sprinkle with curry. Fry until golden brown. Before assembling, chop it up; I use scissors for this.
Step 3
Dice the salad from the tomatoes and cucumbers into small cubes. (You can add any vegetables you like.)
Step 4
Prepare the pita just before serving. It needs to be opened to create pockets; you can cut it in half to make many small shawarmas. Drizzle a little oil in the pan and heat it. Fry the pita for just a few seconds on both sides.
Step 5
Next, assemble the shawarma. I layer everything: sauce, chicken, sauce, salad, sauce, chicken, sauce, salad, sauce. Alternatively, you can mix all the ingredients together.
