Ingredients

  • Peeled Cooked Shrimp - 15.9 oz
  • Celery stalk - 4 pieces
  • Onion - 4 heads
  • Ketchup - ½ cup
  • Vodka - ¼ cup
  • Meyer Lemon Juice - ¼ cup
  • Horseradish Leaves - 1.4 oz
  • Worcestershire Sauce - 1 teaspoon
  • TABASCO® - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 2½ tablespoons
  • Ground Black Pepper - ¼ teaspoon
  • Water - 2 qt

Step by Step guide

Step 1

In a large pot, bring 2 liters of water to a boil and add salt (2 tablespoons). Add the shrimp (medium-sized) to the boiling water and immediately remove from heat. Let the shrimp sit in the hot water for 5 minutes, then drain and cool, leaving the shrimp in the colander for 30 minutes at room temperature.

Step 2

While the shrimp cool, finely chop the onion and celery.

Step 3

Cut each shrimp lengthwise into 2-3 pieces.

Step 4

In a large bowl, combine the shrimp with the onion and celery.

Step 5

In a small bowl, mix ½ cup of ketchup with vodka and lemon juice. Add black pepper (¼ teaspoon), salt (¾ teaspoon), Tabasco, Worcestershire sauce, and horseradish (store-bought).

Step 6

Pour the prepared sauce over the shrimp mixture and mix thoroughly.

Step 7

Serve in small salad bowls (15-20 servings).
