Sichuan Tofu
Ingredients
- Vegetable Oil - 1 fl oz
- Tobanjan sauce - 0.7 oz
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Ginger - 0.7 oz
- Scallions - 2.1 oz
- Chicken Broth - 3 fl oz
- Tofu - 7.1 oz
- Soy Sauce - 0 fl oz
- Sugar - 0.2 oz
- Starch film - 0 oz
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Slice the green onion into rings, including the white part. Set aside a few green rings for serving.
Step 3
Finely chop the garlic and ginger.
Step 4
Cut the tofu into cubes about 2 cm on each side.
Step 5
Heat the vegetable oil in a pan and sauté the tobanjan paste for 20 seconds.
Step 6
Add the garlic and ginger, and sauté for another 20 seconds.
Step 7
Add the green onion and sauté for another 10 seconds.
Step 8
Pour in the broth, add the tofu, reduce the heat to medium, and cook for 3–4 minutes.
Step 9
Add the soy sauce, sugar, and salt to taste.
Step 10
Add the starch to thicken the sauce to a jelly-like consistency.
Step 11
Serve the Sichuan tofu garnished with green onion.
