Smoked Pork Kharcho with Carrots
Ingredients
- Smoked Ham on the Bone - 2 lbs
- Rice - 3.5 oz
- Onion - 2 heads
- Carrot - 3 pieces
- Iranian Tomato Paste - 5.3 oz
- Lard - 1.8 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Basil - 0.3 oz
- Mild Chili Spice - ½ piece
- Bay leaf - 3 pieces
- Boiling water - 2 qt
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Chop the onion, carrot, and pork into cubes and place them in a saucepan, simmering together with the tomato paste.
Step 2
Then transfer to a pot and pour in boiling water, add salt and spices.
Step 3
Cook for about 20 minutes and add pre-cooked rice. Cook until ready for 25–30 minutes.
Step 4
At the end, add the bay leaves.
