Solyanka with Sausage
Ingredients
- Semi-Smoked Sausage - 21.2 oz
- Salad Potatoes - 17.6 oz
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Onion - 1 head
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Olives stuffed with lemon - 3.5 oz
- Pickles - 3.5 oz
- Herbs - to taste
- Passata Tomato Sauce - 10.6 oz
- Allspice berries - 5 pieces
- Lemon-Pepper Mix - 1 teaspoon
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Vegetable Oil - 3 fl oz
- Chicken Broth - 2 qt
- Lemon - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Peel the potatoes, cut them into cubes or strips, cover with water and set aside.
Step 3
Bring the broth to a boil if necessary, drain the water from the potatoes and add them to the pot with the broth, season with salt to taste. Cook the potatoes until tender.
Step 4
Peel the carrot, wash it well, cut it into strips or small cubes and place it in a frying pan.
Step 5
Peel the onion, wash it well, cut it into strips or small cubes and add it to the frying pan, along with 100 ml of vegetable oil.
Step 6
Fry the onion and carrot until golden. Add 300 grams of tomato paste to the frying pan, sauté for a bit (5 minutes) while stirring, add 1–2 ladles of broth and simmer for another 5 minutes.
Step 7
Add 1–2 ladles of broth to the frying pan with the vegetables and tomato paste and simmer for another 5 minutes.
Step 8
Cut the smoked sausage into strips or small cubes.
Step 9
Cut the pickles into strips or small cubes.
Step 10
Add the fried onion and carrot with the tomato paste to the pot, along with 100 grams of olives, herbs to taste, the cut pickles, 2 slices of lemon, 1 bay leaf, and 1 teaspoon of the pepper mix. Peel, wash, and crush the garlic, then add it to the pot. Add 5 peas of allspice.
Step 11
Add the sliced sausage to the pot. Cook all the ingredients for about 10–15 minutes. Adjust salt if necessary.
Step 12
Serve the finished dish hot.
