Spiced Onions Indian Style
Ingredients
- Onion - 6 heads
- Natural Yogurt - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable Oil - 1 teaspoon
- Mild Chili Spice - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric - ½ teaspoon
- Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 1 teaspoon
- Chopped Sage Leaves - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a bowl, mix ground chili, turmeric, coriander, lemon juice, and salt. Add yogurt and stir until it forms a paste.
Step 2
Cut the small onions in half, then into quarters. Remove some of the outer layers of the onion and spread the spice paste over the pieces.
Step 3
Heat canola oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add a bit of the paste and sauté for a couple of minutes. Place the onions in the skillet, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes until soft. Alternatively, you can bake in a preheated oven at 392°F until soft, about 10 minutes.
