  • Carrots - 2 lbs
  • Mustard seeds - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable Oil - 4 tablespoons

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Peel the carrots and cut them into elongated sticks.

Step 2

Crush the mustard seeds in a mortar.

Step 3

In an oven-safe dish, place the sliced carrots and cover them with water so that the liquid covers the vegetables. Add salt. Place in a preheated oven at 392°F and simmer for 1 hour. Then remove the carrots and drain them in a colander.

Step 4

In a heated wok or skillet with a thin bottom, pour in the vegetable oil, add the mustard, add the carrots, and sauté for 5-7 minutes, stirring constantly. Serve the cooked carrots on plates.
