Spicy Napa Cabbage Soup (Kimchi jjigae)
Ingredients
- Tofu - 10.6 oz
- Napa Cabbage - 1 piece
- Scallions - to taste
- Chili jam - 1 tablespoon
- Soy Sauce - to taste
- Fish Oil - to taste
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Rice Noodles - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Add the napa cabbage (or prepared kimchi) to the pan. If you are cooking with meat, add the meat as well. The fat and water from the cabbage will be enough to stew this mixture. Do not add water. Add chili paste, soy sauce, and fish sauce to the pan. Add a tablespoon of sugar. Stew for 20 minutes.
Step 2
Pour in water and bring to a boil. Place the tofu on top and pour the broth over the tofu for 10 minutes.
Step 3
Add rice noodles for thickness, and cook according to the package instructions.
Step 4
Remove the soup from heat and sprinkle with green onion on top.
