Description
Spinach Pkhali
Ingredients
- Cilantro - 1 bunch
- Frozen spinach discs - 4 lbs
- Walnuts - 7.1 oz
- Megrelian Adjika - ½ spoons
- Garlic - 5 cloves
- Malt Vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Scallions - 6 stalks
- Fresh basil leaves - 1 bunch
- Parsley - 1 bunch
- Mild Chili Spice - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Add the spinach to boiling salted water and cook for 3–4 minutes. Drain in a colander and rinse with cold water until the spinach is completely cooled. Allow to drain and squeeze out excess water. If the spinach is not chopped, finely chop it.
Step 2
Finely chop the parsley, basil, green onions, and cilantro.
Step 3
Crush the garlic with a knife and chop it finely.
Step 4
Chop the walnuts in a food processor or, if you don't have one, place the nuts in a plastic bag and roll them out with a rolling pin.
Step 5
Cut the chili pepper in half, remove the seeds, and chop finely.
Step 6
In a deep dish, combine all the ingredients. Dress with wine vinegar and adjika. Season with salt to taste.
Step 7
You can shape the mixture into balls, placing a pomegranate seed inside each one.
