Description
Spinach with Béchamel Sauce
Ingredients
- Spinach - 2 lbs
- Butter - 0.9 oz
- Safflower Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Wheat Flour - 1 tablespoon
- Milk - 9 fl oz
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Remove the tough stems from the spinach, wash the leaves in water, changing the water several times. Then lightly dry and place in a pot. Add a pinch of salt. There is enough water on the leaves. Cook, stirring, for 8–10 minutes. Drain, pressing out as much liquid as possible with a spoon.
Step 2
Melt the butter together with the sunflower oil in a saucepan, stir in the flour and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes. Then slowly pour in the milk, add salt, and cook, stirring, for another 8 minutes.
Step 3
Season the sauce with salt and pour it over the spinach, previously placed in a baking dish.
Step 4
Place the spinach in a preheated oven at 392°F for 10 minutes. Serve immediately.
