  • Red Currant - 2 lbs
  • Sugar - 6 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Balsamic Vinegar - 5 fl oz
  • Ground Black Pepper - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Shred the red cabbage to yield about 12 cups.

Step 2

Melt the butter in a deep skillet over medium heat, add the cabbage, and sauté for about 5 minutes, stirring until the cabbage is slightly softened.

Step 3

Add the sugar, stir. Then add the vinegar, mix, reduce the heat, cover, and simmer, stirring, until tender, about 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
