Ingredients

  • Donut Peaches - 15.9 oz
  • Brown Sugar - ½ cup
  • Water - ¼ cup
  • Ground Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Nutmeg - ½ teaspoon
  • Farm fresh eggs - 5 pieces
  • Milk - ½ cup
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Nut Bread - 8 slices
  • Butter - 3 tablespoons
  • Maple syrup - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 302°F. Combine peaches, brown sugar, water, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small saucepan. Place over medium heat. Cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the compote thickens.

Step 2

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla, then pour into a large dish. Arrange the bread on top. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, flipping once, until the mixture is absorbed.

Step 3

Melt 1.5 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over low heat. Place 4 slices of bread in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes on each side. Transfer to a baking sheet and place in the oven to keep warm. Repeat with the remaining butter and bread.

Step 4

Serve the hot toasts with peach compote and maple syrup.
