Ingredients
- Green Peas - 20 oz
- Bacon - 5 oz
- Onion - 1 head
- Carrot - 5 oz
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Pour 2.5 liters of water into a large pot and add the dried peas. Bring to a boil and skim off the foam.
Step 2
Add the carrot, onion, and the fatty part of the bacon cut from the piece. Reduce the heat and cook for 1.5 to 2 hours until the peas are soft. Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool. Take out the bacon.
Step 3
Blend the pea mixture and return it to a clean pot.
Step 4
Cut the remaining bacon meat into cubes and place it in another pot. Add hot water, bring to a boil, and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 5
Meanwhile, heat the pea soup and season it with salt.
Step 6
Dry the bacon, add it to the soup, and cook for 10 minutes. Serve in a soup tureen.
