Ingredients
- Cream (40%) - 1 glass
- Milk - 1 glass
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Ground Nutmeg - ¼ spoons
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Potato - 17.6 oz
- Gruyère cheese - ½ glasses
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese - 2.1 oz
- Breadcrumbs - ¼ glasses
- Chopped Sage Leaves - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a saucepan, heat the cream, milk, finely chopped garlic, and nutmeg, but do not bring to a boil. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 2
Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly into rounds.
Step 3
Layer potatoes in a greased baking dish, then pour a small amount of sauce over them, and sprinkle with grated cheese and thyme. Repeat the layers 2-3 times, finishing with sauce, cheese, and thyme.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 320°F.

Sprinkle the gratin with breadcrumbs on top and bake for 30-40 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
