Description
Tilapia Fish Soup with Barley
Ingredients
- Tilapia - 10.6 oz
- Salad Potatoes - 3 pieces
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Onion - 1 piece
- Pearl barley - 1 cup
- Salt - to taste
- Green peppercorns - to taste
- Dill - 1 bunch
- Leek - 1 bunch
- Vegetable Oil - 1 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Wash the fish, cut it into 3–4 pieces, place it in a pot with cold water, and set it on low heat. The foam will rise quickly, remove it. At the same time, rinse the barley and cook it separately.
Step 2
Peel the potatoes, cut them into cubes, and add them to the broth.
Step 3
Finely chop the onion, grate the carrot on a coarse grater, and sauté them in vegetable oil with salt. Add to the broth.
Step 4
Add the partially cooked barley (swollen but still firm) to the broth, taste for salt, and add more if needed. Cover with a lid and cook until the barley and potatoes are ready (about 20 minutes).
Step 5
5 minutes before it's done, add the pepper. In the finished soup, add finely chopped herbs.
