Toasts with Mushrooms and Creamy Garlic Sauce
Ingredients
- Olive Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Butter - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Fresh Mushrooms - 2 pieces
- White bread - 2 slices
- Madeira - 1 tablespoon
- Cream - 3 fl oz
- Basil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the grill and skillet. Pour olive oil into the skillet, add butter, and when the butter stops foaming, add minced garlic. Sauté for 20 seconds. Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté for another 3–4 minutes until the liquid evaporates. Season to taste.
Step 2
Grill the slices of bread on both sides.
Step 3
Pour Madeira wine into the skillet. Wait for the wine to evaporate. Add cream and let the mixture thicken.
Step 4
Place the toasted slices of bread on serving plates, top them with the cream. Garnish with finely chopped basil.
