Traditional Cuban black bean soup
Ingredients
- Rice - 3.5 oz
- Black Tomatoes - 7.1 oz
- Chorizo - 1 piece
- Dried Chili Pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Tomatoes - 3 pieces
- Onion - 1 head
- Cilantro - to taste
- Lemon - 1 piece
- Pork Skewers - 7.1 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Vegetable Oil - 4 tablespoons
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Soak the beans overnight in water.
Step 2
The next day, boil the beans in the water they were soaked in. When the beans are soft, add the rice and cook until the rice is partially cooked.
Step 3
Peel and chop the tomatoes. Sauté with salt and dried red pepper.
Step 4
Finely chop the onion and sauté in vegetable oil.
Step 5
Sauté the diced chorizo in vegetable oil.
Step 6
Sauté the pork ribs in vegetable oil with salt and pepper.
Step 7
Add the tomatoes, chorizo, pork ribs, and lemon wedges to the bean soup. Cook for half an hour.
Step 8
Before serving, sprinkle the soup with chopped cilantro and add lemon juice.
