- Turnips - 2 lbs
- Cream (40%) - 8 fl oz
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Salt - to taste
- Chopped Sage Leaves - 1 teaspoon
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Gruyère cheese - 8.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Peel the turnip and slice it thinly. Then, place it in a pot of boiling water and cook for 3 minutes. Drain.
Step 2
In a saucepan, bring the cream, finely chopped garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 3 minutes. Remove from heat.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 356°F.
Step 4
Pour a little sauce into a baking dish and spread it evenly. Then layer the turnip, followed by a layer of sauce, and sprinkle with cheese. Repeat the layers as many times as possible, ending with a layer of sauce and cheese.
