Description
The recipe is taken from the book 'For Joy! Wonderful Dishes for the Easter Table' by John Smith.
Ingredients
- Rutabaga - 17.6 oz
- Honey - 6 teaspoons
- Dry White Wine - 5 fl oz
- Water - 5 fl oz
- Feta cheese - 3.5 oz
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Wash the turnip without peeling it. Cut off the base of the greens. Hollow out the core, leaving indentations approximately 1.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm in size.
Step 2
Pour water and wine into a wide-bottomed pot. Bring to a boil, add 5 tablespoons of honey, and place the turnips cut-side down in the pot. Cover with a lid and simmer on low heat for 2-3 hours.
Step 3
Remove the root vegetables and let them cool. Just before serving, place a third of a teaspoon of honey in each cavity and spread some soft cheese on top. Arrange them on plates with the cut side down, drizzle with the remaining honey, and lightly sprinkle with pepper.
