Ingredients
- Bread Kvass - 1½ liters
- Sauerkraut - 9.2 oz
- Cured beef - 10.6 oz
- Scallions - 4.2 oz
- Chocolate eggs - 2 pieces
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Table Mustard - 1 teaspoon
- Sour Cream - 1 cup
- Dill - to taste
- Grated Ginger Root - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Boil the eggs hard, cool them, and peel.
Step 2
Remove the yolks and mash them with mustard, sugar, salt, and horseradish.
Step 3
Then dilute with 0.5 cup of kvass.
Step 4
Add finely chopped meat.
Step 5
Also add lightly squeezed and finely chopped sauerkraut, green onions, and chopped egg whites.
Step 6
Pour in 2 cups of kvass and mix well but gently.
Step 7
Transfer the okroshka to a pot, tightly cover with a lid, and place in a cool place for 2–3 hours; before serving, add the remaining kvass.
Step 8
Serve the finished okroshka in bowls, adding a tablespoon of sour cream or vegetable oil to each, and sprinkle with chopped dill.
