Ingredients
- Onion - 1 head
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Potato - 10.6 oz
- Turnip - 10.6 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 1 qt
- Rice - 4 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Chopped Parsley - 1 tablespoon
- Chopped dill - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Chop the onion and carrot into small cubes and place them in a pan with heated oil. Sauté, stirring, until golden brown.
Step 2
Boil water in a pot. Peel the potato and turnip and cut them into small cubes. Add them to the boiling water along with the rice and salt, cover with a lid, and let simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes.
Step 3
Add the sautéed vegetables and bay leaf to the pot and cook until the rice and vegetables are done. At the end, add the chopped herbs and season with pepper.
