- White Cabbage - 5.3 oz
- Potato - 4 pieces
- Tomatoes - 2 pieces
- Ground Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Vegetable Oil - 3 tablespoons
- Water - 2 qt
- Frozen Spinach - 3.5 oz
- Bell pepper - 1 piece
- Allspice berries - 3 pieces
- Salt - to taste
- Onion - 1 head
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Pour water into a pot and place it on the heat. While the water is heating, peel the potatoes, carrot, and onion.
Step 2
Cut the potatoes into cubes and add them to the pot when the water boils.
Step 3
Add salt and allspice to the water. Cover the pot with a lid.
Step 4
While the potatoes are cooking for the vegetarian soup, prepare the base.
Step 5
Grate the carrot, chop the onion. Cut the tomatoes into small pieces. Shred the cabbage into strips. Pour vegetable oil into a skillet, add the onion, and sauté for a couple of minutes.
Step 6
Then add the carrot, tomatoes, and cabbage. Sprinkle this vegetable mix with paprika and cumin, stir, and simmer covered over medium heat for 5 minutes.
Step 7
Remove the seeds from the bell pepper and cut it into small cubes.
Step 8
Add the bell pepper and spinach to the pot with the potatoes. If you have fresh spinach leaves or unchopped frozen spinach, chop them finely.
Step 9
Add the sautéed vegetables to the soup.
Step 10
Cover the vegetarian soup with a lid and cook over medium heat for another 5 minutes. Serve hot.
