- Potato - 4 pieces
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Onion - 1 piece
- Sweet Pepper - 1 piece
- Lentils - 5 teaspoons
- Salt - to taste
- Bay leaf - 2 pieces
- Allspice berries - 4 pieces
- Herbs - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Wash and peel all the vegetables. Bring 1.5 liters of water to a boil and add salt.
Step 2
Place the sliced carrots and onions into the pot and cook the vegetables for 5 minutes.
Step 3
Then add the potatoes and bell peppers. Cook the soup until the potatoes are slightly tender.
Step 4
Rinse the lentils in cold water and add them to the vegetables. Pour 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil into the soup. Continue to cook the soup for another 10-15 minutes (green lentils take longer to cook than orange lentils).
Step 5
Five minutes before the cooking time is up, add a couple of bay leaves and chopped herbs to the soup.
