Description
Vegetarian pancakes with green onions
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 11.1 oz
- Vegetable Oil - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Scallions - 1 bunch
- Water - 8 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Mix 315 g of flour with 240 ml of water until the batter is smooth and lump-free. Knead the dough until it becomes even smoother and more elastic. Coat the ball of dough with a layer of oil and place it back in the bowl. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rest for 30 minutes. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts. Grease the back of a large metal baking sheet with oil. Roll out one part of the dough on the greased side of the baking sheet. Roll it out until it forms a thin triangle approximately 30x22 cm.
Step 2
Chop the bunch of green onions and keep it handy along with salt.
Step 3
Lightly brush the surface of the dough with oil and then sprinkle with green onions and salt.
Step 4
Starting from the long end, tightly roll the dough to form one long tube.
Step 5
Cut the tube into 2 equal parts.
Step 6
Take one of these halves and twist it into a knot.
Step 7
Roll out the dough knot to form a flat round pancake.
Step 8
Heat oil in a skillet and carefully fry the pancake. It should sizzle slightly (be careful not to burn it). Cook for about 2 minutes on each side, or until the pancake is golden brown.
Step 9
Cut the pancake into triangles and serve with soy sauce or any other sauce.
