Warm Tofu with Spicy Garlic Sauce
Ingredients
- Tofu - 17.6 oz
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Scallions - 0.7 oz
- Toasted Cumin Seeds - 2 teaspoons
- Soy Sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Sesame Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - ½ teaspoon
- Chili Flakes - 1 teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Gently rinse the tofu and place it in a pot. Cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over medium heat and keep warm by covering with a lid and reducing the heat to very low.
Step 2
Meanwhile, mash the garlic with a pinch of salt in a mortar until smooth. Transfer to a bowl and add finely chopped green onion, lightly crushed sesame seeds, soy sauce, sesame oil, chili flakes, and sugar. Mix well.
Step 3
Before serving, carefully remove the tofu from the water and dry it with a paper towel. Transfer to a small plate and top with the sauce. Serve warm with the remaining sauce.
