Ingredients
- Honey - 3 lbs
- Water - 8 qt
- Gelatin - ½ teaspoon
- Hops - 1.4 oz
- Cardamom Seeds - 2 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Place the honey in an enameled bucket, pour in 8 liters of boiling water, and leave it until the next day.
Step 2
On the second day, boil the mixture for one hour.
Step 3
Then add the hops and boil (with small breaks) 4 to 5 more times.
Step 4
When the honey cools to room temperature, pour it into a sturdy barrel and, after adding the cardamom and gelatin dissolved in water, seal it well.
Step 5
After the honey has infused and fermented for 15-20 days, pour it into bottles, seal them well, and store in a cool place.
Step 6
After 3 months, the mead is ready to drink.
