Description

"Shiru" means soup. The term "yosenabe" can be roughly translated as "a pot with everything." In other words, this is a Japanese hodgepodge—whatever is available at home goes into this soup. Moreover, the ingredients can be added in any amounts, according to taste and availability.

Ingredients

  • Smoked haddock fillet - 3 pieces
  • Tuna - 3 pieces
  • Scallops - 2 pieces
  • Shrimp - 3 pieces
  • Squid - 2 pieces
  • Scallions - to taste
  • Chinese green beans - 6 stalks
  • Tofu - 2 pieces
  • Shimeji mushrooms - 2 pieces
  • Kombu Seaweed - 0.4 oz
  • Dashi powder - 0 fl oz
  • Soy Sauce - 0 fl oz
  • Mirin - 0 fl oz
  • Sake - 0 fl oz
  • Salt - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

In a pot, combine 150 ml of water with kombu, dashi, soy sauce, mirin, and sake. Add salt to taste. Bring to a boil and let it simmer for five minutes.

Step 2

Add everything else and cook for another five minutes.
