Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 2 lbs
- Suluguni Cheese - 2 lbs
- Chicken Egg - 7 pieces
- Water - 2 glasses
- Butter - 5 teaspoons
- Dry yeast - 0.7 oz
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Dissolve the salt, sugar, and yeast in warm water (or milk), then add the egg, flour, and oil, and knead the dough.
Step 2
Divide the dough into 10 portions and roll each into a round flatbread. Place grated cheese in the center of each flatbread. Spread the filling evenly, leaving a 1 cm border from the edge. Fold the edges of the flatbread to create a raised rim, shaping it like a boat.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 428°F (428 degrees Fahrenheit) and bake the khachapuri until partially cooked. Then, place a piece of butter in the center of each bread, crack an egg into it, and return to the oven. Once the egg white has set, the dish is ready to be served.
