Description
The simplest and most delicious Turkish cookies, which have also made it into our 'Golden Thousand.' Just 4 ingredients and 1 hour to prepare — perfect to enjoy with tea from a nice teacup.
Ingredients
- Almond - 5 oz
- Sugar - 5 oz
- Egg white - 5 oz
- Meyer Lemon Juice - ½ spoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Grind 150 grams of almonds in a blender until as fine as possible. Almond flour can be used instead of whole nuts.
Step 3
In a saucepan, combine sugar and ground almonds.
Step 4
Add the egg whites.
Step 5
Place on low heat and continuously stir for 10–15 minutes. Be careful not to let the protein burn. Remove from heat when the consistency resembles thick sour cream and all the sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool slightly.
Step 6
Add lemon juice.
Step 7
Mix well and transfer the dough into a piping bag.
Step 8
Scoop out round cookies of equal size onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 9
Place a whole nut in the center of each cookie.
Step 10
Place the cookies in the oven preheated to 285°F for 30–35 minutes. Once baked, transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool.
