Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 7.9 oz
- Butter - 6.2 oz
- Sugar - 5.3 oz
- Cinnamon - ½ teaspoon
- Water - 2 tablespoons
- Egg white - 1 piece
- Chopped almonds - 1.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 356°F. Cream the butter and flour together. Set aside 1 tablespoon of sugar, mix the rest with cinnamon, then with the flour. Add the yolk and water, and knead into a firm dough.
Step 2
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of 1 cm, sprinkle with finely chopped almonds, then roll out again, pressing the nuts with the rolling pin, to a thickness of 0.5 cm. Cut the dough using a cookie cutter and transfer to a baking sheet. Lightly beat the egg white and brush it over the cookies, then sprinkle with the remaining sugar.
Step 3
Bake for 10–15 minutes until golden brown. Leave on a rack until completely cool.
