Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 9.2 oz
- Butter - 5.3 oz
- Sugar - 5.3 oz
- Chicken Egg - 2 pieces
- Lemon - ½ pieces
- Almond - 3.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Grate the zest of half a lemon finely.
Step 2
Take one egg and separate the egg white from the yolk.
Step 3
Mix the flour and sugar, then add the butter in small pieces, one whole egg, and one egg yolk (reserve the egg white from one egg for brushing) along with the zest. Knead the dough.
Step 4
Roll the dough into a ball, cover it, and let it rest in a cool place for 30 minutes to an hour.
Step 5
Roll out the prepared dough to a thickness of ½ cm and cut out circles using a glass or a special cutter. In the center of each circle, cut out and remove a small circle.
Step 6
Place the rings on a baking sheet and brush them with beaten egg white.
Step 7
Chop the almonds with a knife, but not too finely.
Step 8
Sprinkle the rings with chopped almonds or nuts and place in the oven at 356°F for 10–15 minutes to bake.
Step 9
The finished pastries can be lightly dusted with powdered sugar on top.
Step 10
Serve cooled with tea or coffee.
