Description
Amaretti di Saronno - a world-famous Italian cookie. It is often served with cappuccino in Italian cafes. Previously, it was made from ground apricot kernels, but now it is made from ground almonds.
Ingredients
- Almond - 8.8 oz
- Amaretto Liqueur - 1 teaspoon
- Egg white - 4 pieces
- Powdered Sugar - 7.1 oz
- Chopped almonds - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Separate the egg whites from the yolks, combine with powdered sugar, and beat with a mixer until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the almond flour and essence, mixing well.
Step 2
Using a piping bag or spoon, drop the mixture onto a baking sheet in rounds about 4-5 cm in diameter. Leave 2-3 cm between the cookies to prevent them from merging.
Step 3
Sprinkle a little almond flakes on top.
Step 4
Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (340°F) for 20 minutes.
