Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 10.6 oz
- Butter - 7.1 oz
- Water - ⅓ cup
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 7 teaspoons
- Sugar - 1½ cups
- Apple - 10 pieces
- Corn Starch - 1 tablespoon
- Ground Cinnamon - ½ teaspoon
- Ground Nutmeg - a pinch
- Salt - a pinch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
For the dough, cut the butter into cubes and place it in the freezer for 15 minutes.
Step 2
Sift the flour with salt, add the butter, and rub together.
Step 3
Mix the cold water with two teaspoons of lemon juice and gradually pour it into the flour. You may need less water than the recipe states, so add it in small portions.
Step 4
Knead the dough, roll it into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Step 5
For the filling, peel the apples, remove the cores, and cut them into small wedges. Drizzle with lemon juice, add sugar with cornstarch and spices.

Divide the dough into two unequal parts, roll out the larger part to fit the size of the baking dish. Grease the dish with butter, place the dough in it, and add the filling. Cover with the second half of the dough—if your pie lid is solid, remember to make a vent for steam to escape.
Step 7
Bake the pie in the oven at 347°F for 40–60 minutes.
Step 8
Before serving, let it cool slightly so the filling thickens.
