Description
Antonovka apples are ideal for this jam; they are moderately sour and do not turn to mush. However, you can use any seasonal apples that are sufficiently sour. You can sterilize jars in the microwave by filling them one-third with water, and place the lids in a bowl of water, heating for 3-5 minutes on high power. The jam should be cooked three times to avoid jar swelling. If desired, you can use a blender to turn the jam into a spread.
