Description

You can add 2 teaspoons of baking powder or 1 teaspoon of baking soda to the dough. The fat content of the sour cream should be 15–20%.

Ingredients

  • Sugar - 14.1 oz
  • Apple - 2 lbs
  • Butter - 7.1 oz
  • Egg white - 5 pieces
  • Baking Powder - 2 teaspoons
  • Wheat Flour - 22.9 oz
  • Sour Cream - 17.6 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Cream the butter with sugar (200 grams).

Step 2

Add the eggs and mix well.

Step 3

Add the baking powder and flour — knead the dough.

Step 4

Peel the apples and remove the cores. Slice them thinly.

Step 5

Line a baking tray (I used a tray measuring 30x22 cm and 4 cm deep) with parchment paper or grease it with butter. Spread 2/3 of the dough evenly.

Step 6

Place the apple slices on the dough and spread them out.

Step 7

From the remaining dough, make braids. For this, roll out a strip of dough, then flatten it. Make cuts with a knife.

Step 8

Place the braids on top of the pie.

Step 9

Put the pie in a preheated oven at 356°F. Bake for 30–35 minutes.

Step 10

For the cream, mix the sour cream with sugar (200 grams).

Step 11

Pour the cream over the hot pie. Allow to cool, then cut into portions.
