Ingredients
- Apple - 5 pieces
- Walnuts - 5.3 oz
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Ground Cinnamon - ½ teaspoon
- Wheat Flour - 10.6 oz
- Milk - 5 fl oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - a pinch
- Dry yeast - 0.2 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Whole egg - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the dough. To do this, heat the milk to 104°F, add the yeast, and let it sit for 15 minutes.
Step 2
Sift the flour into a mound, make a well, add the egg, oil, and pour in the milk with the yeast.
Step 3
Add sugar and salt, knead a soft, pliable dough. Cover it with plastic wrap and place it in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours (I put it in the oven turned on with the door open at 122°F). After this time, the dough will double in volume and be ready for use.
Step 4
Wash the apples and remove the cores.
Step 5
Chop the walnuts with a knife, mix with honey and cinnamon. Stuff the apples with the walnut mixture.
Step 6
Roll out the prepared dough to a thickness of 7–8 mm and cut into squares. Place each apple in the center of a square, fold the edges like an envelope, and brush the dough with egg yolk.
Step 7
From the leftover dough, cut out leaves that can be attached to the apples later. Bake at 356°F until golden brown.
