Description
Apple Mousse-Sambuk
Ingredients
- Sugar - 1.8 oz
- Apple - 19.4 oz
- Water - 5 fl oz
- Gelatin - 0.4 oz
- Egg white - 2 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cut the apples in half, remove the skin, seeds, and any inedible core, drizzle the apples with lemon juice, place them in a baking dish, and bake in an oven preheated to 392°F for 30–40 minutes. Adjust the time depending on the ripeness of the apples.
Step 2
Dissolve the gelatin in water and let it sit for 10 minutes, then heat this mixture over low heat to 122°F. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
Step 3
Take the apples out of the oven, let them cool, and puree them. Add sugar and beat the mixture with a mixer. Add the egg whites one at a time, and beat at high speed until the mixture turns white and doubles in volume. Pour in the dissolved gelatin and beat for another couple of minutes.
Step 4
Divide the sambuk into glasses/jars/dessert dishes and refrigerate for 3 hours. Serve as a dessert or dip for garden fruits.
