Apple Pie in a Slow Cooker
Ingredients
- Lemon - ½ piece
- Apple - 4 pieces
- Butter - 3.5 oz
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Egg white - 2 pieces
- Vanilla salt - 1.1 oz
- Wheat Flour - 1½ cups
- Baking Powder - 1 teaspoon
- Sour Cream - 5 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Peel and slice the apples. Drizzle with lemon juice to prevent browning.
Step 2
Melt the butter in the slow cooker on the warming setting (this way you won't have to grease it). Pour the melted butter into a bowl and mix with sugar and vanilla sugar (set aside a little vanilla sugar for decoration). Add the eggs one at a time, beating well with a fork or mixer. Add the sour cream and mix.
Step 3
Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt, and quickly add to the batter, mixing briefly. Arrange about a third of the apples at the bottom of the slow cooker (the bottom should be greased with the melted butter; you can melt an additional piece if needed).
Step 4
Add the remaining apples to the batter and mix. Pour the batter over the apples, close the lid, set to 'Baking' mode for 1 hour, then let it sit for another 15–20 minutes on the warming setting. Turn out onto a plate and sprinkle the top with vanilla sugar, if available.
