- Pitted Wild Apricots - 12.3 oz
- Granulated sugar - 4.4 oz
- Amaretto Liqueur - 2 fl oz
- Ground Almonds - 2.6 oz
- Baking Powder - 5.3 oz
- Butter - 2.6 oz
- Demerara Sugar - 2.6 oz
- Apple - 1.8 oz
- Baking Powder - ½ teaspoon
- Milk - 2 tablespoons
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Powdered Sugar - 2 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Peel the apples and cut them into cubes.
Step 2
Place the prunes in a pot, add 75 g of granulated sugar, and pour in 150 ml of water. Heat for 15 minutes. Drain the liquid, transfer the prunes to a bowl, add the amaretto, mix, cover, and let sit overnight.
Step 3
Prepare the streusel. Rub 25 g of butter into 75 g of flour, add the demerara sugar, sprinkle with a tablespoon of cold water, and mix.
Step 4
Prepare the pie base. Sift 75 g of flour and baking powder into a bowl, add 50 g of butter, 25 g of almonds, the egg, milk, and 50 g of granulated sugar, and knead the dough. Add the apples and transfer the dough to a greased baking dish.
Step 5
Top with prunes, streusel, and sprinkle with 50 g of almonds.
Step 6
Bake for 1 hour at 356°F. Remove from the oven, let sit for 30 minutes, and turn the pie onto a rack.
Step 7
Before serving, dust the pie with powdered sugar.
