Description
20 cm pan.
Ingredients
- Butter - 5.3 oz
- Wheat Flour - 7.1 oz
- Salt - a pinch
- Sugar - 2.6 oz
- Apple - 4 pieces
- Vanilla salt - to taste
- Egg white - 2 pieces
- Water - 6 tablespoons
- Sweetened Condensed Milk with Coffee - 1 can
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 392°F, then reduce the temperature to 338°F.
Step 2
For the dough, place flour, salt, and butter in a food processor (you can also mix by hand) and chop until it resembles coarse crumbs. Add ice-cold water and knead the dough. Shape it into a ball, flatten it, and roll it out. Place it in the pan, trim the edges with a rolling pin, and prick the bottom.
Step 3
Bake at 392°F without weights for about 15 minutes; if the bottom puffs up, press it down with your hand. Arrange the apples in the tart and pour the sweetened condensed milk filling over them.
Step 4
For the filling, place sugar in a pan and set it over high heat, waiting for the sugar to start melting. Shake the pan to distribute the sugar evenly to prevent burning. When it turns into brown caramel, splash in a little hot water and stir to create a thick brown syrup.
Step 5
Add the chopped apples and vanilla to the syrup and simmer over medium heat until the apples release their juice, then let the liquid evaporate. Add a piece of butter and stir until the butter combines with the sugar, making the apples shiny and smelling like caramel. Transfer them to a bowl and let cool (so they are not hot).
Step 6
Mix the sweetened condensed milk with the eggs, using a blender if desired.
Step 7
In the cooled crust, arrange the apples, then pour the sweetened condensed milk mixture on top. Bake at 338°F for 40 minutes, or until the filling thickens and resembles jelly.
