Description
This is a Danish version of the British crumble – unlike its counterpart, it is prepared exclusively using a skillet, without the involvement of an oven.
Ingredients
- Sugar - 2.8 oz
- Granny Smith apples - 4 pieces
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Breadcrumbs - 7.1 oz
- Black Currant Jam - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Remove the core from the apples and peel them. Cut into small cubes.
Step 2
Pour a little water into the skillet and simmer the chopped apples until they turn into a puree.
Step 3
Add half of the sugar and half of the butter to the apples, thoroughly mix them into the puree using a whisk or spatula, and remove the pan from the heat.
Step 4
In another skillet, melt the remaining butter along with the remaining sugar, and sauté the breadcrumbs in this mixture until golden brown.
Step 5
Stir the bread crumbs into the apple puree. Chill and serve with a small amount of red currant jam.
