Description
For variety, you can fill these turnovers with apricots or other fruits.
Ingredients
- Puff Pastry - 10.6 oz
- Pickled Apples - 1 piece
- Marzipan - 1.1 oz
- Hazelnut - 1.1 oz
- Sugar Glaze - 4 teaspoons
- Raisins - 1.1 oz
- Whole egg - 1 piece
- Powdered Sugar - 0.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Let the puff pastry sheets thaw for about 10 minutes, then place them next to each other and roll them out to form a sheet of dough approximately 40x20 cm. Cut the dough into 8 squares of 10x10 cm.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Step 3
Peel the apple, remove the core and seeds, and cut it into 8 pieces. Cut the marzipan into cubes. Coarsely chop the hazelnuts.
Step 4
Place 1 piece of apple and 1 cube of marzipan in the center of each dough square. Sprinkle with nuts and cinnamon sugar on top.
Step 5
To close the turnovers, lift each corner of the square in turn and secure it over the filling. Press the diagonal seams well with your fingertips to prevent the filling from spilling out during baking.
Step 6
Moisten the baking sheet with cold water.
Step 7
Arrange the turnovers on the baking sheet and brush with the beaten egg yolk. Bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
Step 8
Sprinkle warm turnovers with powdered sugar.
