  • Dried Apricots - 14.1 oz
  • Orange Juice - 3 fl oz
  • Lemon Juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Sugar - 5.3 oz
  • Almonds - 3.5 oz
  • Wheat Flour - 21.2 oz
  • Baking Powder - 0.4 oz
  • Eggs - 3 pieces
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Cottage cheese - 8.8 oz
  • Butter - 8.8 oz
  • Powdered Sugar - 1.1 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Cut the dried apricots into cubes and soak them in the juice mixture. Add 50 g of sugar, bring to a boil, and cook uncovered for 5 minutes. Toast the chopped almonds and add them to the apricots.

Step 2

Knead the dough from flour, baking powder, the remaining sugar, eggs, cottage cheese, ¼ teaspoon of salt, and 200 g of butter. Roll it out into a 40x40 cm sheet, evenly distribute the filling on top, and roll it into a log.

Step 3

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Place the log seam side down in a greased loaf pan and bake for 60 minutes. Melt the remaining butter. While the cake is still hot, brush it with butter and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
