Description
Apricot Puff Pastries
Ingredients
- Puff Pastry - 1 piece
- Canned Peaches - ½ cup
- Cottage cheese - 6 tablespoons
- Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Vanilla salt - a pinch
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Potato protein - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
For 6 pastries, you will need 1 sheet of puff pastry. Thaw the pastry, roll it out into a rectangle about 3 mm thick, and cut it into 6 pieces.
Step 2
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and grease it with a small amount of oil. Place the pastry rectangles on the baking sheet, as it will be difficult to do this later with the filling.
Step 3
Filling. Mix the cottage cheese with sugar and vanilla sugar. It is better to use dry, low-fat cottage cheese to avoid excess moisture. Place a tablespoon of the cottage cheese mixture on each pastry piece. Spread the cottage cheese so that it forms a small layer, leaving about 5-7 mm from the edges of the pastries.
Step 4
Cut the apricot or peach halves into slices and place them on the pastries.
Step 5
Sprinkle the apricots lightly with starch to help the juice released during baking set and prevent the pastries from becoming soggy.
Step 6
Brush the pastries with egg and bake for 15-20 minutes at 180-392°F.
Step 7
The finished pastries will look more festive and taste better if sprinkled with powdered sugar and almond slices.
