- Anjou Pear - 4 pieces
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 6 tablespoons
- Vanilla Pod - 1 piece
- Brandy - 2 fl oz
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese - 8.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 356°F.
Step 2
Cut the pears in half and peel them, then carefully remove the cores.
Step 3
Melt the butter in an ovenproof skillet over medium heat, place the pears cut side down, sprinkle with sugar, and cook for about 4 minutes until the sugar dissolves and turns into caramel.
Step 4
Add the vanilla seeds and pod to the skillet, reduce the heat, pour in the brandy, and cook for a few more minutes.
Step 5
Carefully flip the pears (they should be golden) and transfer to the oven to soften for 10 minutes.
Step 6
Transfer to a plate, sprinkle with cheese shavings, and drizzle with the caramel sauce from the skillet.
