Description
"Trifle" is a "little thing" (from English) that doesn’t require restrictions: instead of juice, strong coffee/tea/chicory or even wine works great. The same goes for fruits and cookies—use whatever you find in the kitchen! The main thing is to do it with love)
Ingredients
- Milk - 10 fl oz
- Whole egg - 3 pieces
- Corn Starch - 3 teaspoons
- Vanilla salt - 0.5 oz
- Whipped Cream - 8 fl oz
- Powdered Sugar - 1.1 oz
- Amaretti - 5.3 oz
- Bananas - 2 pieces
- Kiwi - 2 pieces
- Oranges - 1½ pieces
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 1 fl oz
- Brandy - 0 fl oz
- Light Raisins, Seedless - 1.8 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the vanilla custard: gently heat the milk, part of which is used to dissolve the egg yolks whipped with vanilla sugar and cornstarch. Pour the mixture back into the milk. Stir vigorously until the custard thickens, then cool it.
Step 2
Whip the chilled cream with powdered sugar. Peel and cut the fruits into desired pieces. Squeeze the juice from the lemon (orange/lime) and (if desired) mix it with a strong flavored alcohol (the classic liqueur for trifle, amaretto, works perfectly). Pour boiling water over the raisins and rinse them.
Step 3
Layer the dessert arbitrarily: soaked sponge cookies in juice, vanilla custard, pieces of fruit, cream, raisins. And repeat for a second (third, fourth...) round ;)
Step 4
Optionally, you can drizzle with chocolate glaze: melt 50 grams of chocolate and 20 grams of butter in a water bath and decorate the top of the dessert to your taste. Place the finished trifle in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours.
