First, mash the bananas with a fork. You don't need to be too thorough—it's okay if there are some lumps. Add the granulated sugar, vanilla, star anise, and citric acid. Place the mixture on the heat. When the future jam comes to a boil, turn it off. After a few hours (3-4), bring the jam back to a boil and turn it off only after 10 minutes. That's it!
Step 2
Transfer the jam to a jar and place it in the refrigerator. The dessert turns out very tender, soft, and not at all overly sweet.
