Banana Marmalade
Ingredients
- Ground Cinnamon - 1/3 teaspoon
- Sugar - 35.3 oz
- Water - 34 fl oz
- Bananas - 35.3 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Combine all the ingredients, blend in a mixer, pour into a wide pot, bring to a boil while stirring, reduce the heat and simmer on low heat (to prevent burning) while stirring occasionally for 4 hours.
Step 2
If desired, 10 minutes before the end of cooking, you can add 1–2 tablespoons of cocoa powder (amount of cocoa to taste). After cooking, you can add 1 tablespoon of brandy or a little vanilla or vanilla sugar to taste and mix well. In this case, dissolve the vanilla or vanilla sugar in a small amount of hot marmalade mixture before adding it to the main mass.
Step 3
Pour the resulting marmalade mixture into a mold in a thin layer and leave to cool and set. Then briefly (for 2–3 seconds) dip the bottom of the mold in hot water, invert the resulting slab onto a sheet of parchment paper laid out on the table (if desired, you can sprinkle a little fine sugar on the paper).
Step 4
Cut with a sharp knife, slightly greased with vegetable oil, into cubes or diamonds. After cutting, the pieces of marmalade can be rolled (this is optional, to taste) in fine sugar or powdered sugar.
