This recipe can easily be made vegan by using plant-based milk: almond, soy, or coconut.
Ingredients
- Bananas - 2 pieces
- Milk - 5 fl oz
- Wheat Flour - 7 tablespoons
- Turmeric - a pinch
- Cinnamon - ½ teaspoon
- Vegetable Oil - ½ cup
- Powdered Sugar - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
To make the batter, mix the milk, flour, and spices until you achieve a consistency similar to thick sour cream.
Step 2
Pour oil into a pot or pan to a depth of at least 3 cm and heat it until a drop of batter floats to the surface and sizzles.
Step 3
Peel the bananas and slice them into rounds.
Step 4
Add a few pieces to the batter and stir to ensure each piece is coated.
Step 5
Remove them one by one from the batter and drop them into the hot oil. Fry on all sides for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
Step 6
Place the cooked banana pakoras on paper towels or napkins to cool.
Step 7
Sprinkle the cooled pakoras with powdered sugar and serve.
