Description
Banana sauté with praline sauce and cardamom
Ingredients
- Butter - 2.1 oz
- Brown Sugar - ¼ g
- Bananas - 4 pieces
- Cardamom - a pinch
- 10% cream - ½ glasses
- Lime Juice - ¾ spoons
- Vanilla Ice Cream - 7.1 oz
- Salt - a pinch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cut the bananas into four pieces: first lengthwise, then crosswise.
Step 2
In a moderately sized shallow skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Once the butter stops foaming, add the first batch of bananas to the skillet, placing them in with the flat side down. Sauté for 1 minute, then flip and cook for another minute. Transfer the sautéed bananas evenly onto large dessert plates.
Step 3
Add another tablespoon of oil to the skillet and repeat the process with the second half of the bananas. After sautéing, do not stack the bananas on top of each other to prevent them from sticking together and losing their shape.
Step 4
In a clean skillet over medium-high heat, heat 2 tablespoons of oil, add sugar, cream, cardamom, a pinch of salt, and occasionally stir until it comes to a boil. Continue to cook for about 2-3 more minutes until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat, add fresh lime juice, and stir.
Step 5
Drizzle the bananas with praline sauce and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (one scoop per serving).
